Phantom Menace begins the Star Wars six-o-logy.

The Galactic Republic is in trouble. Trade Federation is planning to attack Naboo, a member of the Rebubic. The Senate sends two Jedis to the peace making business. They are supposed to negotiate peace between Naboo and Trade Federation. But they fail, and the action begins.

The Kingdom of Naboo is ruled by a young determined queen Amidala,  under the water there lives another species. Creatures called Gungans. Relationships between Gungans and Humans could be better. 

After the failed peace negotiations Jedis land on Naboo. Right after landing master jedi Qui-Con  and his apprentice Obi Wan, meet and make friends with Gungan, Jar Jar Binks. 

The trio saves the Queen and escapes from the planet. Unfortunately Trade Federation hits and damages their space ship. They are forced to land on the distant planet of Tatoiine. 

At Tatooine Qui-Con, Obi Wan, Jar-Jar and Queens maid  Padme, leaves the ship and goes to town. While trying to buy spare parts, they meet a young slave, Anakin Skywalker and his mother Shmi Skywalker. 

Although the Queen's court is not poor, the money they have is in wrong currency. Anakin promises to help the Queen. He takes part to the dangerous Pod Race,  in order to get money for spare parts.

After the money is acquired and ship is repaired, court continues to Coruscant, the Capitol of the Star System. Anakin follows the court, and in Coruscant he is set to Qui-Con's new apprentice.

The time is short and people in Naboo are dying. Queen Amidala gets bored with bureaucracy. She decides to go back to Naboo and fight against the Trade Union. Without Republics help. Before the final battle Queen Amidala negotiates an alliance with Gungans.

Excellent and very famous action movie. Belongs to the top twenty grossers of all times. Suits well for all kinds of audiences.

The Phantom Menace was shot in Tunisia, United Kingdom and Italy. Shootings took place in late summer 1997.

This Star Wars trilogy has two editions. At around 2010 movie was enhanced with new digital and 3D effects. The second edition was released in February 2012.  Mr. Lucas is a pioneer and developer of the digital and 3D movie tech.
