A romantic comedy about two friends falling in love with each other.

Emma is a doctor and a friend of Adam. While Emma is hard working woman, Adam is reckless, but good-hearted young man. He has problems with booze, overdoses are not rare. Thinks sometimes also something else than women and sex and booze.

The story begins from the summer camp, where Emma and Adam get to know each other. Adam's father Alvin is divorcing, and Adam feels bad about it. Emma is not very good with feelings. But she does try to comfort and support Adam as much as she can. After the camp is over, the friendship ends, and the life continues.

Few years later the couple meets again. Emma and Adam takes part to a booze drinking pajama party. Emma's father had died recently, Emma asks Adam to accompany her in the funeral. Adam agrees. In the funeral Adam gets a bit disappointed with his cold companion. Emma realizes this, and the couple separates again.

Adam lives and works  in Los Angeles. Emma is almost ready to be a doctor. Only the compulsory practice is undone. Emma gets a job from Los Angels, and the couple meets again. Adam is currently dating another woman, and nothing serious happens. Before the separation friends change the phone numbers.

Quite soon after this Adam breaks up with his girl friend. His girlfriend start to date Adam's father Alvin. After Adam sees his father and ex-girlfriend together, he gets really upset.  

He runs to restaurant with his friends and takes a full-tilt. Next morning, after complete black out, Adam wakes up . . . in a strange place . . . with an unknown woman . . . and completely naked.

Being unaware about the events which led him to a current situation, Adam makes some careful and modest inquiries about the night. Adam is quite confused until Emma comes in. Adam had called Emma and Emma gave him her address. Adam had come, and continued his evening with Emma and her college mates. After an astonishing strip-tease performance Adam had passed on Emma's couch.

Emma is a busy career woman, she does not have time for the relationships. She has time for casual sex only. The friendship turns into sexual relationship.

Emma is still the cold hearted girl from the summer camp. And Adam the crying boy, who sat right  beside her. Adam falls in love, and Emma is not that interested in Adam. 

Very many turns and twists take place before the closing events and texts are shown to the audiences.

The story is told to you with the means of romantic comedy.

Excellent choice for the friends of the genre. There are few separate storylines and many aspects embedded into the script. If you like the genre, you can watch No Strings Attached  more than once, without getting bored.

There is also a female touch in the story, the original screenplay is written by a woman. Women usually reach the female audiences better than men.

? No Strings Attached is a commercial romantic comedy, without deeper artistic ambitions and aspects. The movie forwards quite quickly, and it has more than one storylines in it. If you missed something or got confused during the first screening, there is nothing wrong with the script. The 2nd time goes smoother than the 1st time. Clears and clarifies messy parts.

Trivia : In one scene director Ivan Reitman can be seen in the movie as himself, and as director. He directs Adam's script. Mr. Reitman is well  known movie maker. Famous from the Ghostbuster movies. On the disks there is also a commentary track from Mr. Reitman.

Mr. Kline and Mr. Elwes are veteran actors. Both have acted over 25 years. Started their careers in the year 1984. Good examples from the thing, that acting is a life-time career choice. There are work opportunities for people at all ages and stages of career. You do not necessarily need an additional profession. Like you do in music and modeling businesses. 

All you have to do, is some financial planning. And save some money during the top-billing seasons. Buying rather expensive house is good way to make long term savings. Can use the money / investment too. 

Expensive cars, which keep their value and can be considered as an investment, can never be used. The antique collector cars must be held in garage. One scratch or fault in them and the value collapses.
