about the dance are in New Testament. Gospels of Matthew and Mark.
Gospels do not know, why John was a prisoner ... during
the time he lost his head. John lost his
head at the same time Jesus was crucified.
It is not known, whether John was already sentenced to
death. If he was already convicted to death, just like Jesus, the only thing
Salome did, was request for immediate execution ... and the head.

In 1896 Oscar Wilde wrote a romanticized theater play from my act. In 1910 Richard Strauss composed
an opera from the play. Then there are many movies and paintings from the
dance-act - like in the side bar.
In the romanticized Wilde story line I am in love with John Baptist. The dance
got also a form and name - The Dance of 7 Veils - the dance is an
erotic strip tease like dance. It is based on Mesopotamian religious ritual -
The Seven Gates - in the ritual a woman gets completely naked. Her mission is to
do it in a way, which makes men hot.
