Why do space ships use beam weapons in Sci Fi movies

The reason is in the way space is. Space air does not resist movements of an object. When you hit a space ship with common missile, the collision and blast throws the ship far away from you. And your nukes do not do much damage to the hostile ship.

Laser gun hits small area of the ship, it tries to penetrate into ship, without throwing it away. Laser beams do not weigh much, they do not carry / hit the target with busloads of kinetic energy.

Besides laser guns, you can use space mines / bombs in space wars. Basic demand for space weapon is, that it does not hit the target with kinetic energy. The destructive blast must take place before the blast / low air resistance throws the target away.

Guns with small, sharp headed bullets are also effective in space.

How does tractor beam work ?

Tractor beams are made with space ships gravitational system. The gravitational force is enforced and targeted towards ship.

If gravitational drag fields are like magnets, the sender would look like horseshoe. Horseshoe magnet has a directional drag field.

First flying vehicles - from the sci-fi movies - can be made with drag shields. Flying vehicle needs rotating shields, with what you can control altitude.

How does space ships shields work ?

If weapons are laser weapons, the basic shield is dense light / light wave construction, which absorbs / neutralizes the incoming laser beams. You can also use reflectors ( mirrors and mirroring things ) for creating shields against laser weapons. Reflector shield spreads the laser beam so much, that the beam does not do any damage to target.

Another possible shield type would be rather weak reversed gravitational shield. This shield stops space ships and heavy weapons ( like missiles ).

Third effective shield is traditional armor-shield.

What are space ships reflectors ?

All space constructions and vehicles need reflectors. Near the stars ( inside star system ), heat and overheating are big problems.

When sun / star beams hits an object in space, the collision creates lots of heat. The source of excessive heat is collision energy. In space, atmosphere does not filter and slow down the beams. The collision speeds are enormous. Without reflectors ship does not live long, overheating blows the ship.

Existing space ships and satellites have reflecting paint / coating, which redirects most beams away from the body. When ship's body is black, there must be a shiny - glittering transparent layer over the body. In space stations, with windowed sight demands, you must use transparent reflector systems.

Why do you have to conquer the space

If you want to know why, humans consume the natural resources faster than nature recycles them. Sometimes resource is converted into non-recyclable form. Sometimes the resource is taken to long term use, and new similar kind of products needs new resources all the time.

Due to this, there will be a day, when humans must go to space. For getting replacements to the declining Earthly resources.

If humans do not do so, the race declines. Falls far behind current wealth and welfare levels. The fall would be very painful, there would be wars, laws would cease to exist and so on. After the doomsday recession begins, it is no longer possible to even dream of getting into space.

Space project will be a success. It is already known for sure, that soils in Moon and Mars are much the same than on Earth. Venus is still unknown to us. You need a space bathyscaphe for entering the surface. The air pressure has blown all probes right after the landing. Venus seems to be a burned planet. Material, which on Earth covers the rock mantle, is in air. Carbon and oxygen for example exists, but they are in CO2 fumes. If you find ash from the ground or air, there must have been life on Venus. When living planet burns, another thing you find from the air are H2O vapors, aka clouds. Venus air has vapors, but according to samples, there is not much water in the air. Gravity is the same than on Earth. Air is much more thicker than on Earth. It supports the idea, that we are talking about burned planet. Planet which can be restored.

- - - -

Another reason is in climate. Climate started to change in 2007.  The change has been in effect 10 years already. The change can last long, and it can develop into worse. Reason for change is not known, possible that someday change forces you to leave Earth.

Possible that change comes from hot layer in atmosphere. You must check how it is. If reason in hot layer, you must find out the reason for the change, find a way to stabilize and control the layer.

In global level modest warming is good for Earth. But continuous demand for mass-moves makes the change intolerable. And Venus like excessive warming would put an end to everything.

- - - -

From the dense populated areas in Los Angeles, California the change is very visible. Southern California has suffered from drought. Area gets fresh water from short term storms, and that's almost all. Water usage is regulated. There is not enough fresh water for people, plants and animals. Although Los Angeles is at seaside, winds blow the vapors further to Pacific Ocean. Los Angeles winds bring dry desert air into area. The climate change has made the area overpopulated. You could've resolve L.A. drought problem with forsaken R&D steamers. Big enough for distilling massive amounts of salt water into fresh water. L.A area has enough sunlight for powering pump-distiller systems.

Climate changes in dense populated areas are difficult. You can never know when the change ends, if ever.

Space Lift

Space Lifts, which resolves the biggest problem ( transportation and transportation costs ) would need much more accurate design. To valve system, heat resistance, etc.

Single Lift can easily carry as much stuff as biggest cargo planes, with marginal operating costs. Maximum payload comes from the size and weigh of the gas tanks. Calculated, that it is rather easy to build tanks, which can carry around 50 ton payloads. Lifts cannot land or raise in strong winds. They are simple / cheap, do not necessarily need crew, they can make multiple trips. Everything you need for first prototypes does exist already.

It is not known how high air ship can go with air tanks. Balloons have exploded before the lift has ended. The laws of physics are valid in space. By sucking space air into additional tanks and warm the air you can always raise from the gravity field, which is strong enough for dropping the objects back to earth.

Lifts must always make the trips from Earth to space during night. During night time Earth's shadow cools the hot layer in the atmosphere. It is at rather low altitude. It must  be rather cold early in the morning. Right before sun starts to heat it.

- - Space Hotel - -

There aren't many persons in this world, who would not want to have a holiday in a space hotel. So the hotel has to be big for getting room prices down, and making it available for big masses.

After first wave / rush, there would be around 50 - 100 million potential brand new visitors per year. Besides common stuff, there would be Hubble / observatory for all. Scientific wing for researchers. Big movie studio at the downstairs.

Although name is Space Hotel, the place must be like a common tourist attraction. There must be shops, restaurants, parks, theme parks and so on. Special attractions are space related, rides with space vehicles, space walks, etc.

Senior City is a platform for checking how a very long stay in space affects people. Low gravity makes the life easy for the senior citizens, with a small risk of dying earlier than you would on Earth. Also possible, that you would live longer. In principle rotational fields are preserving and gravitational fields consuming systems.

These two constructions will give lots of reason and money for space science. Although midgets preferred bloody wars from space, common people seems to disagree with these extremists. Space hotel is a way to vote for the future and better knowledge about the surrounding world.

- - - -

Big space lifts allows you to downgrade the construction costs a lot. City is a modular construction. Rooms and others are built and tested on earth. Ready made modules are lifted and connected to each other in space. Construction and transportation costs are rather near the common construction costs. Modules need a secure connection system and special walls. On the other hand they don't have to be as strong as earthly constructions.

Greenhouses are much more productive than earthly houses. The partially artificial weather is much more better than on earth. Greenhouses and parks are needed for converting CO2 back to Oxygen and Carbon. Then they provide fresh food for visitors.

Space Greenhouses

After lifts get going, a trip from Space Greenhouse to Earth does not take long and it does not cost much. Greenhouse in space can produce food 365 days a year. The closest houses can be at around 200 km altitude from Earth. You can transport the food to earth, for the delivery and further processing in less than hour. Even the biggest cities like Tokyo, New York, Moscow, etc can get fresh, recently harvested, food every day, from 200 km / 100 mil distance.

Unmanned cargo lift does not need many additional, expensive security systems. A system where the lift drops the container at high altitude with parachute is one possible chance. Then a stronger lift would bring the dropped empty containers back to green house or returning lift  -  many at the time.

- - - -

Houses need strong, radiation proof glasses. Then they need shades / filters for preventing excessive sun light. In mass production these glasses and filters will be cheap enough for profitable agriculture. Space plantations must be big. Not very easy / cheap to use solar panels and artificial light in the houses. Think that the existing radiation proof glasses have thin steel grids inside the glass. The holes are made so, that the light comes through the glass. The house needs at least two glass layers for safety and maintenance.

Radioactive radiation is very short light wave, it is not known how Earth's atmosphere filters the space radiation, and lets the sun shine in. Sun radiates all kinds of light waves into space, atmosphere filters hazards from the beams.

After the construction is ready and safe, the plants are safe, natural and fresh. Gene manipulation is never needed.

- - - -

Houses would need connected animals / humans for getting natural cycles going. Plants need CO2 and fertilizers for living. Space Hotel is one solution for the problem. There are greenhouses, where plants are attached into tube-system. They grow without soil. They get everything they need from the liquid that runs in the tubes. These green houses are essential for the space settlements.

Houses are part of the 1st stage of Space City project. They are used for producing food and oil for earthly needs. Although houses construction costs are rather high, space food can compete with earthly production with cheap and fast transportation.

- - Plants - -

Possible, that plants needs rest, too.

Plants are not stupid. On Earth, they live with calendar, then they react to day/night time. During night plants sleep just like animals and humans. It is not known if this sleep is essential for them.

Plants are certain to have self preservation and breeding instincts. When plant grows, it always tries to extend into direction, where it gets sunlight / water. In breeding plants regulate number of fruits they spread to the surrounding world. When year is poor, they produce less fruits than usual. During good years, they produce more fruits, corns, cones, etc than usual. When plant lives longer than one season, it usually sleeps the wintertime.

Rather common belief is that, paying attention to the plants, makes them feel better. They produce better looking flowers, etc.

Then you cannot create a computer program, which simulates the life of a plant. If plants were stupid, creation of 100% simulation program would be kids play. You could write it without a single If / Case block. Program would crash and plant would die right after some required element was missing.

Space Trains

Fast space ships with gravitational layers are probably much like trains. Narrow,  low and long. When you increase the speed, space air should resist the change. Although systems are not the same, accelerations and breakings last long. During these periods there are similar kind of forces than on Earth.

Since you do not have to keep the ship in the air, it can be a long heavy tube, like a train.

When space train exceeds light speed it needs a clear predefined track ... for inter galactic flights. Just like in space sci-fi movies, you have to prepare the ship for hyper speed cruising.

Gravity

The problem with greenhouses and parks is in the missing gravity. Soil must be attached to floors. Possibly to walls, too. Missing gravity gives you also new things and some advantages. Space streams and ponds are more difficult than soil and plants.

- - - -

Besides planets, atoms should / must have gravitational centers. These gravitational forces are either so small, that they have no effect in our world. Another chance is that their gravitational force is somehow different from planetary force.

When a solid object gets broke, atoms gravitational forces are not big enough for getting it back into one piece. You must heat the object near the melting point, before the force fields connects the parts together.

Heat expands atoms and atoms' gravitational force fields. But heat does not make big changes to the power of gravitational center. Liquid gets broke much more easier than solid object : A soup can be eaten with a spoon, but for a steak you need fork and sharp knife ... good teeth.

Cold is also known to act in this way. When you lower the temperature, it is easier to break objects into pieces. They do not bend as much as in higher temperatures. Cold shrinks the gravitational force fields.

Recording words with scripts.

Languages differ in the way spoken words are scripted ( = written).

Asian scripts do not have any hints to the way words are pronounced. In Asian scripts words are recorded as whole. Each word has a sign. Sometimes it goes even further, script is a hint from the whole sentence : When you read the script, you must add few words it. Spoken Asian languages has the same feature, in quite a many, you can drop short words from your speech.

- - - -

Very different from European languages, in most European languages there is a chance that in certain situations forgotten small word / character ( pre-position, etc ) changes the meaning of the whole sentence : Lets say, that you wait bus at bus stop. At your sight there are two buses. Bus which came to your sight first is the bus. When you refer to second, incoming bus, this bus is a bus with an unknown / new article. If you take the bus, you go to first bus, and if you take a bus, you go to 2nd. But when you take bus ( also a bus can be used ), no one knows for sure, what bus you will take and when will you step into bus ... how long you plan to stay at the bus stop. Usually these messes are avoided with additional definition : I took the 1st bus / I took the 2nd bus.

When there is only one bus, that comes in question, in common language the pre-positions / articles do not matter. In most cases all three possibilities are correct also by the rules of grammar.

When you write a book in English, it is sometimes difficult to follow grammar. When you write parts, where almost every second word should be an article, the flow of the story suffers. You have to drop part from articles away. Shorten the flow of the story to the flow of story.

- - - -

At the other end from the Asian scripting you find German and Nordic languages. In German, Danish, Norse + Icelandic, Swedish + Finnish spoken words are written as they are pronounced. Most letters in alphabet have only one common pronunciation ( with few exceptions ) . These languages do not need English like hints for pronunciation. The written word includes the pronunciation. When you follow the common pronunciation rules, no-one misunderstands you ... because you failed to set your words correctly.

Due to the accurate scripting system, these languages have few additional characters in their alphabet ( extended ANSI chars ). These additional characters are sort of compatible with each other, there aren't any extended characters, which would have two general pronunciations. The pronunciation of the extended character is usually somewhere near the base vocal.

In German language there are two overlapping script characters, F and V. Words Fiat and Viat are both pronounced as Fiat. Common V is always written with W : Correct pronunciation for BMW goes with BMV, not BMW.

Script for pronunciation hints is an accurate international script. All characters in the script / alphabet have only one pronunciation rule. Rule is used in all around the world, with all languages and by all linguists. It has busloads of special characters, hint characters and variations.

- - - -

With accurate system and with extended Latin chars English words  "Marry me" would be written  as "Märry mii", "Märri mii", etc.  In most Asian scripts proposal is presented with one character.

In accurate scripting the literal presentation is dependent on the way you say it, or the way you want it to be said. They are handy languages for authors, script writers and directors. Actors and other readers, too. You can give and get hints from the way dialogues are spoken. The origin of the accurate scripting is in Germany. Nordic scripts were developed later. In word and text lengths inaccurate and accurate Latin scripts are near to each other. Inaccurate script  is usually slightly shorter.

- - - -

If you are not a native English speaker, Americans have wider understanding towards you than Britons. US English has many additional words, which have their origin in some other language. In US English you can for example use German word auto from car. In British English oil coating of the road is called tarmac, in USA you can use asphalt and tarmac. In Britain houses can be built from concrete only, but in USA you can build the same houses from concrete and cement.

Scripts II

Movie scripts have often parts, which are not intended to be in the movie. They contain hints for the team that makes the movie.

Sometimes these hint chapters are like movie scripts, they have dialogues, where the movie characters explain these hints. When so, it is up to director, whether or not these parts are taken into movie. Sometimes director or screenplay writers create additional scenes from the hint chapters.

One common hint chapter is the one, which is written to actors. It is usually in the beginning of the script. It describes characters and their backgrounds, so that actors know how to build and play the roles. George Lucas has said, that first Star wars sequel scripts had predefined characters.

When script misses hints for actors, it is possible that characters are built slowly with dialogues in the script.

When script misses both, actor builds the character. So that it fits into the things character does in the movie. Very common, when the script or the role is short and has only few lines.

When the leading character is intended to be played or will be played by a big movie star, the leading character has room for star's personal touch and character construction.

In Maxwell Thunderbird II trip to Venus begins with a meeting where engineers plan the trip. In the meeting they decide the looks of the ships, and set timetable for the trip. The chapter is not necessarily needed in the movies. You'll find the ships from the movie, and timing shows itself in latter chapters.

Cinderella story begins with almost 1 hour introduction to the tale. Besides the chosen straight play, screenplay writers / director could have cut this part from the movie. Then they could have chopped the introduction into pieces, and embed things from it into the part, which shows the actual fairy tale.

Movies are based on stories. Screenplay is the final version from the story. When the movie production begins, screenplay is renamed. Production teams talks about script. After that director plans visualization for the script, and makes many changes to the script. The production begins after director is finished with his initial version from the script. During production script is changed  many times from various reasons.

- - - -

Music is usually based on melodies. Composers writes the melodies into pool. From the pool arrangers and lyric writers can pick the ones they like. After melody has lyrics and arrangement  it goes into a vast pool, which is held for the performing artists.

Lyric writers have a common pool, like composers. It is held for copyright fees. Composers hardly ever searches lyrics for a melody they will write. You got to ask, that someone would write a melody for your lyrics.

People and bands, who writes both melodies and lyrics often write lyrics to private pool. Later they write melodies for the lyrics in their pool. System is very common amongst song makers, who makes songs from their observations from the surrounding world.

When an artist picks melody directly from composers pool, he-she goes to record company, and asks company to search arrangers / lyric writers for the melody.

Arranger is a person, who writes simpler background melodies for the instruments. Composer, lyric writer, arranger and performer are the four, who share the copyright fees from the song. Manager is the 5th, manager takes fees from performers share.

- - - -

Musicians managers hardly ever takes part into music making. They take care of the business. Manager is more business oriented than actors' agents. Agent helps actor for getting roles and arranges schedules.

Musicians, who are entrepreneurs, wait invitations to festivals. Managers do not deal with these things. There are offices, from where you can get prices and availabilities of the artists. These offices usually arranges tours, too. If you are famous enough to make world tour, after the tour is announced, the tour dates are usually negotiated and sold very quickly. Some agencies offers also professional managers and manager services.

When artist changes record company or agency, the manager is usually involved. Negotiates money related things from the deals.

Since musicians are entrepreneurs, it is not very easy to cheat and fool them. Musicians notice the cheats, very many other misses. After they notice, that they are being cheated, they often give busloads of negative publicity to the cheater.

In the first episode gravity is a small problem. But in next episode Isaac and Jack will discover that gravitational center is in the core of the planet / sun. After this, they launch a mission, where the survivors try to find small gravitational centers ( black holes ) from space.

Ghost Dances name was originally Ghost Opera II. Album is a collection from the music we made during our site was down. Almost all songs have double rhythm : Ghosted Bass usually hits 4/4 dance rhythm. It was the reason for changing the name to Ghost Dances. Almost right after Dances, we made Waltzing Witches and Wizards EP. Magical EP with cover story is in rhyme section.

Album will get Maxwell Thunder Book III and same site system than Books 1 and 2.

Attempt [2015-C1]

This is the 1st from Spring 2015 Commercial Two Octave melodies.  Pitch variance is 2 octaves. Tempo 180 BPM. Two verses.

In the first verse big pitch variance is faded with additional tracks. So that you have enough time to get familiar with 2 octave sound. 2nd verse is almost exactly the same as the first.

Without lead, the first 2 octave melody had a strange, poor sound. If you listen song two times in row, you notice the difference and lead quite clearly.

Song has flat double 2/4 and 4/4 rhythms. 2/4 is played with drums. 4/4 cycle begins with altered crash. Crash is assisted with Ghosted Bass drum. Flat double means that 4/4 beat is the same throughout the song. In some songs you have to shift 4/4 dance beat for getting better listening experience.

During the time Mr. Hitler and his Notorious Nazi Group consumed non-Aryan Europeans as slaves in their factories, killed 6 325 470 or 6 325 471 Jews*, songs had dance beat in them. Nowadays hints for dancer are not as clear.

* The death of one well known Jew is still in question ... did she die from natural causes or not.  It is also well known that Jews are the only ones from which Mr. Hitler and Notorious Nazi Group made records. Some sources are saying that Hitler had over 17 million European slaves. There aren't any records from slaves Nazi's took from conquered countries. After war Nazis and allies sort of used Jews for distracting and fading more serious things like slavery.

For Ivan [2015-C2]

This was the 2nd 2-octave melody in Spring 2015. The original score suits to classical female singer.  Range is C4+C5 ... 2 octaves up from middle C.

The melody is built with common commercial tones. It follows the Rebroff formula. After a showcase sequence there is an easy breath taking sequence. Ivan Rebroff usually laughed the rest cycles. Ivan Rebroff is most talented performing singer, ever. His record company said in the beginning of the 1970's, that his voice covered four octaves. Typical classical vocalist falls into troubles ( cheats-tricks-altered voice ) after two octaves. Pop-Rock singer has to cover one octave. Without practice, human voice covers 3 to 4 full notes.

The song has two verses. The melody is almost equal in both. 1st verse has commercial backgrounds and 2nd traditional Boys backgrounds. Decided to begin with commercial so that you sort of get used to the extended scale. Commercial backs fades the melody track. Without faded 1st verse, the melody hit you and sounded strange ... non-commercial mess.

For Ghost Dances drum track was re-arranged. Wooden block hits always in the beginning of 4/4 cycle. Ghost Bass didn't fit into play. 4/4 crahses - which are in the play - drowns sometimes into other crash hits. Boosted them with the block.

The difference between dance 4/4 and musical 2/4 rhythm comes from the conductors' sign language. They do not have and cannot easily wave 4/4 time sign.

Step three [2015-C3]

Step free is 3rd from Spring 2015 commercial two octave melodies.

The overall pitch variance 2 octaves and 3 full notes. Most of the time melody runs at around 1.5 octaves. 2.3 comes from the beginning, the part which connects 1st and 2nd verse and from the closing. Built with common commercials, without technical specialties. Just like most of the popular music is made. The connector and the part which begins the second verse was rather challenging. Resemblances to the beginning of the 1st and original melody ... none.

Song was made and arranged before we took double rhythm in to use. Crashes were used. Ghost-Common bass kicks were not available either. Ghost Bass has special sequence in the connector part, elsewhere it is quiet.  Divided common bass kicks to two drums and boosted kicks with bongo drums. There is quiet 4/4 snick-snack sound, which is played most of the time.

This the first successful commercial two octave song system for Jack and us. Wider pitch range is almost invisible in the song.

Classical Ghost [2015-C4]

Classical Ghost is based on the last two octave melody from Jack's 10th anniversary melody set.

Song is played with standard instruments, Brightness, Honky Tonk, Ghost Box 2015 and 2 drum kits. Melody is repeated twice. Pitch range is exactly 2 octaves. Melody can be adapted and played ... with lyrics also sung ... at both male and female pitch ranges.

Song is made much like common classical melodies are made. There are long slides and sequences. Long and sharp slides have usually parabolic or curved form. In pop-rock slides up and down are shorter. They are usually straight lines up or down.

Jack didn't remember how long he struggled with melody, but song was made very quickly. It is always easy to make songs from good melodies, with fresh / new sound. Various additional tracks and other attractions fits well into song. They are not necessarily needed.

Caprice Classic [2015-C5]

Caprice Classic is the last from five 2 octave song we made in the spring 2015. Pitch variance is 2 octaves + 3 full notes.

With lyrics this song is Caprice also to singers, you got be capable of singing throughout the range.  Long classical "Aaahs and Ooohs" are not enough. There are notes from 1/8 to 1/2 at all levels. 1/16 at some levels. Tempo is 180 BPM.

The 2 octave melody set was inspired by Miss Ariana Grande, Florida USA. She is only little over 150 cm tall. But small singer's voice has a good pitch range. Small size and lungs prevents her from singing traditional two octave classical songs. You need big lungs for singing the long ups and downs ... slides.

Caprice Classic goes up and down in short steps. Minimum requirement ( in the original score ) for the singer and her lungs is one full note at 180 BPM. Without losing a bit from your voice. Recommended continuous blow is 1.5 full notes at 180 BPM. Almost all pop-rock singers are capable to produce enough blow for the song. Common people can usually sing one full note at 180 BPM.

Sounds quite a lot like Commercial Caprice. The melody is also long, 1 minute 45 seconds. It is repeated twice in the song. After Grand opening, the melody begins with a short rhythmic shift. Then there is a short sequence with mixed black and whites ( two keys ), another difficult thing to construct. The mixed part is the one which goes high and sounds like Arabic or Indian ... somehow exotic.

Third factor for the title is, that you can play the melody with Piano only. The minimum amount of required arrangement comes the quality of the melody. The minimum arrangement is a set of additional tracks and rhythmic hits, you need for getting the melody going smoothly.

For single and top ten entry you need Grade A or Grade B melody. In best selling album you can also use Grade C and Grade D melodies. Not possible to get good songs from Grade E and Grade F melodies. There are limits for everything.

The arrangement has flat double rhythm. Drums hit 2/4. Crashes hits 8/8, occasionally 4/4. At the short rhythmic shift 2/4 is the only available.

The name Caprice Classic has it's origin in Jack's Chevrolet Caprice Classic. A broken American everyday dream ... as he calls it. Popular car for common Americans, which is sized and equipped as executive / luxury car. Americans are nowadays too poor to buy such cars. They do not sell very well.

Possible that the notorious Anti-American committee has something to do with the death of the lifestyle, where common people buys Caprice like cars. It is too close to the communist dream ... and I am an anti-American. All I need is a treason to act. Not our fault that Anti-American committee have acted like a real-life Anti-American.

After the purchase Jack remembered that Caprice is a rare Italian musical term. Checked that it is sometimes used from clever and difficult classical compositions.

Chevrolet and GM got the name Caprice to Chevy's most luxurious model from the name of a restaurant in New York. Quite sure, that after getting the idea, that they checked what the word Caprice means. So that it matches the car.

Caprice took throne from better known, older Chevrolet Impala. Chevrolet Impala had the same body, but it was cheaper and poorer. Origin for Caprice and Impala is very old full sized Chevy model, Chevrolet Bel Air ( Buenos Aires ). When sold simultaneously Bel Air is the cheapest, then comes Impala and Caprice.

Musical terms are quite often used in commercial product names.

Rock Radio  [2015-1]

Rock Radio is the first song from the year 2015. Song is made with same formula than popular Space Radio. Rock Radio belong to our own favorites. Song misses double rhythm, not possible to add it without ruining the sound.

Tempo is 180 throughout the song. The ticking brightness creates illusions from changes in tempo. The tick-track sound was originally created for simulating running engine's sound.

Com too [2015-2]

Base for the song is from the year 2015. Song is based on few popular rock sounds. Also made for the genre. Increased length, added quiet double rhythm - with crashes - to song. So that it doesn't ruin the sound.

Melody runs in C-B / six full note tube.

Commercial Caprice [2015-3]

Commercial Caprice was the first from three melodies, which were inspired by Jack's studies about the origin of his Chevy's model name. Italian oriented word Caprice refers to intellectual, complicated, good quality classical music.

Our Caprice belongs to the high quality melodies, which can be listened and made to songs as they are, without arrangement and other attractions.

Song has double rhythm. Base melody runs in common one octave C-B tube. Two consequent downward slides are closed with notes from outside the tube. The melody is played twice. Low notes are in the connector of the verses.

Caprice Base [2015-4]

Mummy, the Milking Machine. Caprice Base is B-Side for Commercial Caprice. Creation of something unique, artistic, worth listening, with repetions of the simple tones was the leading idea in the song.

There are busloads of 1/4 double hits in one 1/2 time cycle. All the other tones are also re-used very many times. This is one of the first songs, we made with more than one rhythm. To older Ghost Dances songs double rhythm was added later, usually to a ready made song.

Song has triple rhythm. Base drums hit 2/4, cowbells click 4/4. Cowbells are replaced with Ding-Ding, when 8/8 begins. 8/8 Ding-Dings are assisted with Ghosted bass drum. Ghosted bass is never heard elsewhere.

2/4 tempo is 180 BPM, 4/4 goes to 90 and 8/8 to 45 BPM. The flat rhythmic system takes a little from listening experience.

In common commercial music and dance music minor rhythmic instruments and hits hardly ever gives any systematic hints from rhythm. More like attractions.

Trolls Dance [2016-1]

Song is made over one Jack's pop-rock melody.  Pitch range is 1 o + 3 full notes ... F-A. Chances to slip and cheat are marginal. Melody uses full range almost all the time.

Creating a stand alone melody-song system with marginal number of notes is quite a lot more difficult than a system with many notes. Ballads for example are usually made from complicated melody. The slow speed comes from arranged drum and other percussion tracks.

Song has 4/4 system. Ghost Bass and dedicated Crash begins the 4/4 cycle. Melody has been released on site, with different, lighter arrangement. The another version is on Ghost Opera II previews Ep.

Nightingale [2016-2]

I cannot see ... but I can guess, that our next and last song talks about night-in-jail. Arranged and played by local nurses, accompanied and assisted by cops.
Jack, you are lying. It never came true.
You weren't there, darling. Attempt and preceding attempts were serious.
How serious ?
Before European May day, I didn't recognize faces from 3 meter or 10 ft distance.
Sure that your eye recovery was miraculous.
Absolutely. I have seen ... ear-witnessed ... sensed ... how people get permanent damages to their eyes and digestives from the same treatment and poison.

This melody was inspired by the old circus and theme park songs. It has 3 unique parts. Then it uses half notes in sound creation. Length of melody is 86 seconds.

It has also something new. Melody belongs to wide-range commercial melodies. Pitch range is 1o + 3 full notes. The younger singers ... around us ... have all practiced their voices over the traditional one octave tube.

Song begins with rather rare pop tone, it is one octave and three full notes. Too much to many. Jack said that he has heard the tone in some older popular pop song. Probably a tailored melody to some talented female singer.  It is difficult to drop the pitch ( with one octave ) to male voice. It was also difficult to find leading instrument for playing the melody track. from Boys palette Brightness was the only one, capable of playing the melody ( in stand alone play ) nicely.

Song has three verses. 1st and 3rd are equal. In second the beginning is altered. It is slightly faded with pulsing pad, The variation didn't fit to original melody. But it had some nicer sounds, didn't want to drop it away.

In this Ghost Dances version Brightness-Music Box combination plays main melody.  Ghost Box -15 plays the brass like track at the bottom. Pulsing Pad assists in 2nd. 3rd begins with Ghost Box, Warm Bell. Flute Jungle tone is also making noise there.

The song was made before Ghost Dances. The sound of original arrangement was too thin for Dances. Balanced the sound for this version with low pitch Ghost box.

The basic arrangement is sort of home made. Additional tracks follows the melody, but some notes are missing. When you sing in private parties with pianist. Pianist often drops notes from the melody. Plays notes every now and then. When you aim for good sound, it does not go just like that. You have to think carefully which notes you play.

Song has 2/4 and 4/4 rhythm systems. There is an additional crash hit, which begins 4/4 all the time. Ghost Bass assists crash after 1st verse.

Have listened and fixed the original arrangement awful many times. The comparative attraction against the new songs have faded in our ears. Remember that it was quite a song, when we listened it for the first times.

The Disturber  [2016-8]

The Disturber takes some advantage from keyless system.

2nd verse has old fashioned additional track. In 2nd grand piano has full length track. It has unique notes and it is written like melody. But track cannot be played all alone. Without melody track it sounds awful. It is the way most classical and other old arrangements were made.

Later these tracks have been used in clown acts. One player from Clown orchestra ( in Circus ) plays different notes than the others ... the play stops into a chaos.

When you write ... or wrote ... these additional tracks, they must run in considerably ( one octave ) higher or lower tube than the actual melody. If used pitches are too close to the pitches you use in main melody, the sound cracks.

And if the additional track has long or many matching notes ( with main melody ), they usually vanish in the play.

There are also few parts where Honky Tonk is separated and faded with matching and mismatching notes.

Ghost Dances [2016-10]

Ghost Dances from 2016 was written in two parts. First before Jack's eyes started to fail. 2nd during his sick / rest leave. The 1st ran already in 1o + 2 note tube. The 2nd goes higher than first, so the pitch range is almost 2 octaves. ( 1o+5n )

Song has 2/4+4/4 rhythm and 90/180 tempo system. Bass drums kick 4/4 throughout the song, without exceptions. Crashes play 4/4 in everywhere else but the connector part.

From Boys own songs, these smooth plays have been very popular. Rather difficult to write, intentional attempts to write these usually fails or then it takes an awful long time to get it going nicely.

Number 10 doesn't come from St Downing, song is made from 10th -16 composition. British prime ministers official residence's address is one the best known street addresses in world. In movies and books Britons are often called from ... or to ... Downing Street 10.

Bachline [2016-11]

Bachline has two themes.

The first is rather flat fanfare play. Song was named after Johan Sebastian Bach. In fanfare part you usually repeat the same note, only note lengths and positions changes. These straight lined parts are common in classical music. Song was made long time ago.

The original play was too thin for Ghost Dances album, added one bass track into song. Song became rather dark and heavy after addition. Another common feature in old classical songs.

The second takes some advantage from 4/4 rhythm, lower hits are reversed from higher hits. Higher hits are played the beginning of the 3rd cycle, lower hits in the beginning of the 1st cycle. Background drumming ( for dancers ) increases the difference in the way you hear the lower and higher hits.

The connector in between 1st and 2nd verse is constructed from the fanfares in the beginning.

2nd verse is sort of an experimental arrangement from the 1st. The additional notes are often either delayed or played at misaligned pitch. Purpose of both is to get more visibility to the new notes and new sounds to the play.

Jack said that idea is simple but it takes quite a long before you get these things going smoothly. He played few failed attempts from the past to us.

3rd verse is an altered version from 1st.

Ha-Ha-Ha [2016-12]

Pop-Rock melody. 7 full notes.

Melody uses B-B. range. Another specialty is that, F, #F and G notes are used almost right after each other. Melody is 8 note melody.

This was the last song we made for Ghost Dances. Rather short melody seemed to have quite a many similarities with earlier made songs. Decided to leave length to app. 2 minutes. Added calypso track and brass solos to the play. Boosted and altered 2nd verse.

Song has standard double rhythm. 4/4 starts with Ghost Bass drum and slightly more powerful crash hit. Common bass drum hits the beginning for the 2/4 cycle.

- - Orchestral Midi - -

When you make and play Midi arrangements. Violins have three and Brasses have two standard orchestral midi instruments.

These instruments simulates sound of more than one instrument. String or Brass sections.
- Orchestral violins are Strings, Slow Strings and Tremolo Strings.
- Brasses have Brass and French horns instruments.
- Flutes miss orchestral instrument.

These instruments usually suits to the whole range. With Brass instrument you can play both Trumpet to Tuba sections. In Midi system Concert Bass drum is melodic instrument. You cannot find it from the percussive channel 10 instruments. If it is, it is in additional bank number 1024. Since the orchestral drum is bigger than Pop-Rock bass drum, notes for the biggest orchestral Bass Drum should be below C1 and B0 ( Bass drum pitches at channel 10 )

Besides these standard instruments Midi bank has Orchestral Hit instrument. In the bank 1024 there is Orchestral Pad. System with banks goes so, that 1st bank the same in almost midi keyboards and sound cards. Contents of the other banks varies a lot. These numbers are from Creative's Midi system. Creative is the developer of the Sound Font system, which is based on recorded samples. Most modern midi systems are based on Sound Fonts and samples. Creative is also the developer of the voice recognition.

Name of fame [2016-13]

2nd version from 2 octave pop-rock melody runs in 1 octave and 5 full note tube. Length is 65 s. Manage to get few new tones to it, the quality is the best possible. Melody does not necessarily need arranged tracks. Arranger can add anything he-she wants into song.

Write these wide melodies with common tones and note lengths. So that smaller singers ( with wide voice ) should be capable of singing them. In the places where you stretch to 2nd octave, half-notes are the longest. Tempo is 180 bpm. Common techno & rock music tempo. Time you have to keep your voice equals quarter notes with 90-100 bpm tempo.

Moving the melody ( up-down ) in the wide range makes them often slightly longer than usual.

To this song we added only drums. Putting too much stuff into songs, which are made from better melodies, makes the song too visible in the album. Album from which you do not make single releases.

The melody is played with Music Box, Brightness, Honky Tonk and Ghost Box 2015. One person can play instrument tracks with 4 tone synth. Although it seems that instruments vanishes from the play, all are played with equal volume all the time. Qualities of the instruments changes the visibility of a single instrument in the song. In this song Music Box vanishes sometimes so, that you cannot hear a thing from it.

Song has double 2/4 + 4/4 rhythm, and 90/180 tempo.
Bass drums hit the 4/4 all the time, at the very ends of the 1st and 2nd verses common bass drum has one additional kick.

Crashes hit 4/4 almost all the time. In the connector of the 1st and 2nd verse, crashes play 2/4.

Calypso Ghost [2016-14]

Calypso Ghost is played with Marimba, Pulsing Pad -16  and PWM, two drum kits in the back.

Calypso is Caribbean dance and dance music. Marimba gives the unique sound for calypso music and dances.

Calypso Ghost is made from one Jack's pop-rock melody. Written at around xMas in December 2016. Not sure if song will raise to evergreens. Got rather nice song from the melody with additional attractions, and small changes into original melody.

Melody runs in standard C-B tube. 7 full notes. Song has double rhythm. Played with Bass drums throughout the melody. When Ghost bass is quiet, 1st drummer kicks the beginning of 4/4 bigger bass, which has slightly lower tone than standard bass drum. He uses ( additional ) smaller bass drum for 2nd kick. Crashes hit 4/4 all the time.

If you have difficulties in finding rhythm from common song. Bass drum almost always begins the cycle. In commercial arrangement, the next drum hit is snare, it comes at 2/4. Then comes another snare. It is in the middle of snare and next bass kick. This pop-waltz sequence is most common in commercial arrangements. Changes in rhythm are rare in new pop-rock songs. The beat goes on, also then when you cannot hear it.

New Year [2016-15 + 2017-1]

This song is made from two experimental melodies. They had resemblances and both were too short / complicated for making a song from them.

First was written after xMas 2016. ... To a rare and difficult pitch range. Most of the time it rolls below C, with F, G, A, B notes.

Second was written after New Year 2016-17. The melody belongs to keyless melodies. It has mixed half-full note combinations, sounds. Notes which usually cracks and makes the sound strange, when used near each other.

During arrangement in turned out that the melody is too dark and heavy. After listening the song few times in row, you got sort of exhausted with the sounds and darkness of song. Therefore song got many small and few bigger changes with what we tried get lighter sounds and lengthen lifespan to the song.

Short 6 cycle long connector between 1st and 2nd verse is rather unique and difficult. Spent many hours with the short sequence.

Cash register [2017-6]

Simple pop-rock melody. 8 full notes. Cash register machine was reloaded with million in less than hour.

Melody is based on two rather long tones. Put the lyrics into first, and choruses to the second. Get young, good looking female or handsome male artist to the vocals, common commercial stuff to backs, and the star is born ?

Chances are at least good. Not the worst Jack has written recently. Pure melody is not perfect. During song making it turned out to be a bit boring : The four instrument tracks are almost, but not exactly the same. The melody is played with Music Box, Brightness, Honky Tonk and Ghost Box 2015. At arranged track, Warm Bell plays some of the Music Box attractions in the second verse.

Song has double 2/4 + 4/4 rhythm and 90/180 tempo. Bass drums play the 4/4 all the time. Also in the connector, where two snares have double hits. At the end of the connector common bass drum has one additional kick ( for going back to melody )

Crashes are also arranged so, that they give you 4/4 all the time.

Fantastic Pie  [2017-2]

Simple song. Arranged to Fantasia instrument, Honky Tonk piano .....  and, and to a Bass Guitar like synth setting. Song has double rhythm, Ghost Bass drum and dedicated crash hits the beginning of the 4/4 cycle. Although simple, melody didn't suit well to our the standard instrument palette. Only bigger problem with this song.

Serpent [2017-3]

Melody is a work-out for difficult pitch range. Melody runs in F-F tube. ( 8 full note ), instead of common C-B and C-C tube.

Still lot to learn, theme for 2017 is difficult tubes. 2016 went with keyless melodies, 2015 with two octave pop-rock melodies and double rhythm.

During song making, the play with our standard instruments had rather dull sound. Tested all kinds of things and tricks. Eventually added piccolo flute track to the song. Piccolo gave something new to the play.

After addition Jack wrote grand opening and long connector for Piccolo. Although played with synth, track is written and tuned for Piccolo or flute in general. From the flutes Piccolo has the highest pitch range.

If flute solos disturbs you, the problem with the track is that, it runs at high pitch, C6. During the audio tests, some systems changed the sound, when you changed the volume level. The original sound is somewhere near Indian serpent enchanters flute.

Grande Finale : Waves  [2017-4]

Easier, less demanding, pop-rock melody. Made without any specialties or rare tones.

Full length melody runs in 6 full note tube. Suits for male / female voices ... singers at the beginning of their career.

Jack said, he ran out of ideas over the original base tone/ sound. So the melody got two sound systems. You can put lyrics into 1st and choruses to 2nd.

When we worked with song, it didn't take long, after the song became favorite for the last song : Grande Finale for Ghost Dances album. After that added "farewell sounds" to the 2nd and 3rd verse. Same formula but different method than in ATS Mines album's Grande Finale, Journey.

Encore : What was it ? [2017-5]

Jack, what was it ?
It was a connector sequence between 1st and 2nd verse. You need connector, when verse ends very differently from the way it begins. Changing the sound in the middle, usually improves the listening experience.

Connector is much like an instrumental solo in the middle of the old rock song.

I am not yet satisfied with your answer.
Brasses, especially trumpet is solo instrument. Trumpets and brasses have also some popular riffs, which sounds nicely in your ears.
In traditional Jazz music trumpet is basic solo instrument, just solo guitar in pop rock.
The best known Jazz musician ever, Louis Armstrong, played trumpet.

There are also short riffs ... sounds for piano, with what a pianist can entertain you.

Jack.
The beginning of the song ends to a common low mood background sound.
Thought it was funny way to open this song.

- - - -

Jack, are you afraid, that you would ran out of fresh ideas ?
Such thought has occurred to my mind. Not afraid of running out of ideas, but there has been times, when I do not know what to do. Now and next.

What do you do when it happens ?
Not much you can do. Must put music aside. Test every now and then how does it go.

When was the last time you ran out of ideas.
Few years ago. That's all I can remember.

Does this thing present a threat to our future ?
Not a serious risk. Currently almost non-existing. Still a novice with two octave and keyless melodies. Then our first sounds and melodies are getting old. Nice sounds are forgotten. Slowly becoming fresh again. But everything is possible.

What if it comes true ?
If the threat comes true, we can continue with covers, rhymes and xMas songs only.
Give up from own music.
Yes.

Slow Trolls [2014-Nov-1]

Slow Trolls, it is the only song on Ghost Dances with 120 bpm tempo. All the others roll with 180 bpm. 6 full note range goes from B to A.

Song is played with Honky Tonk, Ghost Box 2015, Brightness and two drum kits. As usual.

Drums have an arranged track. But song has steady beat for 4/4, it begins with Ghost Bass. 2/4 hint is wooden block.  Melody is the first Jack wrote after he recovered from partial deafness.

Better Together [2014-Dec-1]

Melody and arrangement are from December 2014. Made soon after Jack recovered from deafness. Naturally improved for Ghost Dances. Modern classic, non-commercial or something like that ... music.

Two drum kits, honky tonk, brightness and Ghost box -15 are responsible for the noise you hear. Main melody - right hand honky tonk track - runs in one octave tube.

Popular Deathbells gave us ... umh ... Jack .... courage to include the song in Ghost dances.

Added double rhythm with Ghost Box and 2nd drum kit to the song. Ghosted bass drum begins 4/4 cycle, throughout the song.

Add the double rhythm to songs, because over 50% from dances have 4 steps. Are danced with 4/4 rhythm. Live performances belong to our primaries. Dancing is one, very common form, of the live performance.

Dancing is also natural thing to do. When you play music to young kids, they usually start to move their body and limbs with the rhythm.

Old Pops [2014-Dec-2]

This is one of the last melody-songs, Jack wrote before we started to add 4/4 dance beat into our own music.

The add-on 4/4 is hit with Ghost Bass. In the original song all hits are made with 2/4. In this arrangement there are 3 misaligned hits. One in the connector of the 1st and 2nd verse. Then there are two near the end of the song.

Not-so-long-ago there was a time when this sound was considered to be Futuristic Sci-Fi music. Future came true very quickly.

Rolling Balls [2015-Nov-21]

The melody and song was made in late November 2015. During the time our site was completely down. The melody is commercial. When you write commercial pop songs, there two kinds of tones / sounds from which they are built.

Easy sounds can be dropped to the melody on when-ever-needed basis. Difficult sounds need lead ins and outs, before they fit into smooth pop-sound.

This melody was made over two consequent "rolling" hits. They are played in the beginning and few times during the play. This "rollling double hit" belongs to the difficult sounds. Cycles before the hits are preparations for the hits, cycles after the hits brings the melody back into common pop mode. When you make music to masses, the sound must be smooth, roughness and cracks are forbidden. Tone palette is heavily limited. You must follow the taste of the mainstream listeners. When times are bad, melancholy melodies and tones are popular, etc. Very difficult to write a melody for the pop song of the year.

The scale is 1 octave and 3 full notes. Most of time melody runs in one octave tube. In few parts you got to stretch a little from the standard. Similar kind of short term stretches are rather common in opera and classical music.

When we listened Rolling Balls, it sounded better without arrangement. Common drums for example were too "heavy" for the melody. Decided to play 2 / 4 step system with bongos.

With lyrics and commercial use, the melody would suit well for ballad. Another, lighter arrangement from the melody can be found Ghost Opera II previews Ep. This earlier arrangement was also released on our site.

During work-time lyrics came also in to talks. When melody goes to lyric writers and singers, they make small variations to melody with lyrics. When you adapt lyrics to melody, in musical view you change play time of the notes. Some times you cut half note to two quarter notes , etc.

Besides cuts and changes in play times, singers also fine tune the pitches.

In music making melody comes first. When you have an idea for lyrics, you got to think the melody on fly, at the same time you write the actual words.

Pop One [2016-P1]

Once upon a time our Jack was very sure about his composing skills. He decided to write a best selling pop melody. He named melody with Pop prefix. Spent one day with melody.

All he got it done, it turned out to be an awful non-commercial mess.

After few days break, he spent another day with his precious best selling Pop-melody. Next morning he came out from his workshop with a new non-commercial mess.

After around 7 working days / attempts he gave up and overwrote most from the melody with brand new notes. Although final melody had proper sounds, it was far from common pop melody. It was left to pool for a long time. Decided to make a song from it for Ghost Dances.

Jack worked hard with his dream. Pop One has keyless sounds, part of the sound is made with combined Honky Tonk - Brightness play. Since the small details in the song vanishes easily to background, decided to drop ghosts away from the arrangement.

Song has double rhythm, 4/4 begins with crash.
