Jack darling. One of your old women was unfaithful to you. How much did you offer from her lover's head. Dead or alive ?
I offered 50 millions. Right after the pictures and story were published. They were fake pictures, but they made lots of damage to our relationship. People and editors had lots of fun with them, at our expense. The fun ended to the firings of the editors and other people who were responsible from the very dirty and nasty joke. The paper which published the pictures and the story lost over 20 % from it's readers.

You didn't have any feelings of pity, when you forced them to step down ?
No darling. I did not feel sorry for them. The story made her look like a cheap slut.

Jack. How much did you love her ?
Of course.

The Offer. When did you do it ?
Right after I read the story. Before I knew the story was fake.

Did the police know about the offer ?
Yes.

What did they do ?
Nothing.

Did they think, that it was a fake offer ?
No. They knew that is was very real.

How did the story end ?
After it turned out, that the story was a fake, got the chief editor and editor who wrote the story, fired.

Jack, darling. Would you attack editors and paparazzis for some other woman or person ?
Can't do that. At least at the same levels and weapons, with what can I defend you. When you are my woman, when someone hits, insults or hurt you, I can hit and beat them with all possible means.

The best way to fight against gossips is an official blog

On right there is an end of one paparazzi chase. This photo from Natalie was published as part of the set from her attempt to escape from the photographer. Sometimes those photographers come and stand in front of you with their camera. Some has bend down, obviously in an attempt to get a photo from panties ... under the dress. When I asked Ted and his Time Warner, they told me, that actors and celebrities want to play with paparazzi. They ask for the paparazzi and their photos.

If gossips and gossip writers find it very difficult to stick in the facts, the official web-site / blog is usually the best and also cheapest way to fight against them, and deny stories which are not true.

The price of the simplest official blog is app $10 / €10 month. There are very many small companies and entrepreneurs which do the underlying work for you, and the only thing you have to is to write blog chapters. Or to have your agent / rep to write them. 

Besides the responses to the gossips, news ( dates, times and places )  about the forth coming public appearances and movie / brd releases, are things which people expect to find from the official site. The rest is up to you and your public image. The main thing is that the site looks like you.

Techs

Besides the site-blog system you can use Facebook, My Space and Twitter as a platform. They are almost the same. Twitter is slightly different. Twitter is quite often used as marketing channel for the new stories in blog, Facebook and My Space. When you have an official site, it does not matter where it is. It gets publicity, because it is official. People who are interested in you search the address and the location of the site.

The visitor amounts are not usually very big. Most of the visitors are gossip writers, who search subjects for their own stories. If you put the trailers from your movies to your site, you can cloud the hardware resources from the movies' official sites. In other words you can link the movie player on your own site to play the trailers from the movies' introduction sites ( or where ever the trailer files are )

Dealing with publicity - Dec 2010

If you get in to troubles with the press, there are few things you can do.

You can ask, if they would show you the questions in forehand. Usually the most important thing in movie related interviews is, that everything goes smoothly. When you read the questions in forehand, you have time to think about them and form your answers properly.

When you give an interview to printed media, you can ask if you could review the interview, before it is published. Main issue in printed movie interviews is that readers like what they read.

Quite a many media act like this by default or by request.

The editors are always interested in getting something special into their interviews. Something which is not published earlier in some other media.

Something, what happened while making the movie, or something personal.

Editors get better ratings for their interview, when there is something special and unique in their interview. As a result also the promoted movie gets more publicity.

Privacy

If you are harassed by paparazzis, you can contact the medias which publish the pictures. Quite a many media quits publishing pictures from a person, who has asked privacy for her / himself. 

Paparazzis take the pictures for money, they get from published pictures. When they do not get it, most of them quit the chase. 

By the time paparazzis chased just divorced princess Diana ( right before and during the fatal accident ), British tabloids offered millions of dollars from good paparazzi pictures. Everywhere she went, there was a big herd of paparazzis behind her. Dreaming about big money - A jackpot they could get with pictures. Jack said that it was rumored, that the highest bid from a single picture was as much as 4 millions.

The complaints about stories and pictures are needed before it is possible to take any legal actions against papers and paparazzis. They must be given a chance to correct the stories and their habits. Without literal note it is impossible to win medias.

? If you write the note by yourself, try to keep your temper down while writing. A polite request to leave you alone is the best note you can write. If they do not quit for polite request, they will have lots of fun with the angry requests. Very unlikely, that they will stop for the angry note.

Covering your face with hands is a good thing to do. When you do not want pictures to be taken. It is international sign, which says, "Quit taking photos." All photographers and voyeur video takers know what the sign means. Besides celebrities, ordinary people use the same sign in parties and other places, where they are in front of the camera.

The photos, where you lift your hands to cover your face, can be used in court. As an evidence against the photographer and the paper. All decent photographers quit shooting immediately or almost immediately after you cover your face with hands.

Laws in almost all countries forbids all medias to publish stories, which are not true. According to laws, medias are always obliged to correct all errors in their stories. In practice this law does not work very well. 

The law includes gossips. When written and spoken lies causes damage to the target of the story, it is not impossible to get corrections and even win the law suits against the media.
