Next chapter 21 : Couple of Ghosts Previous chapter

- - Song introduction - -

Couple of Ghosts is based on Music Box lullaby melody 20. It was the last song we made for Ghost Opera. We were very near to drop the melody away from the work list. Usually try play the songs so, that you can easily follow the melody. Couple of Ghosts needed many additional sounds, before it was ready for the recording.

Played the song with Two Ghost Organs and Ghost Box. Arranged it to the heavier, a bit classic like, style.

The name "Couple of Ghosts", is result from voting. No-one invented a "perfect" name for the song. So we voted from the name. Couple of Ghosts won Dungeon Ghosts, Ghost World, Ghost Hates Me and few other suggestions. A couple of persons have their birthday on 20th February, and the original music box melody was number 20. It is the most likely reason for the victory.

Next chapter 22 : Ghost Me Out Previous chapter

- - Song introduction - -

Ghost Me Out is based on Music Box lullaby melody 22, second last song we made for Ghost Opera. Tempo is dropped from 180 to 160. Our composer writes almost all songs with base rock'n'roll + techno-disco tempo 180. With 2/4 time signature.

Decided to play the actual melody ( voice track ) with Piano. When we tested the melody with various instruments, plain honky tonk piano sounded nicest in the melody track.

Our composer lost the most from his creative drive after 19th Music Box melody. Started to repeat himself and used old worn out tones in the melodies. Defended himself by saying, that it happens to everyone. After you have written many songs without a long break, you always run out of new fresh ideas, and you start to repeat yourself.

Anyway. Took quite a long time and quite a many changes, before we got something out from the melody. Something unique, long enough and worth listening. When we thought what to do with the melody, we decided to turn the melody into a classical music like power song. Let it run in the high frequencies almost all the time, too. Due to the nature, song loses quite a lot, if do not have good speakers.

In general Music Box melodies suits very poorly to Ghosts. Music Box can play 1/4 notes, after that sound always ends. No matter how long the note is. Ghosts on the other hand play all notes with at least 4/4 length.

Decided to name the song after our composer's favorite song from Talk That Talk, Roc Me Out.

Next chapter 23 : Medieval Ghost Previous chapter

- - Song introduction - -

Medieval Ghost is based on MusicBox lullaby melody 23. Decided to play it with Ghost Box, Ghost Organs and Harp. Not forgetting the drums. Dropped tempo from 180 to 120. Not the best melody we had for Ghost Opera. Quite a lot of work was needed before the song was ready.

Decided to name the song after Harp. Harp gives a vintage ( = old-fashioned ) sound for the song. A bit like the old songs, which were played in castles and medieval times.

Next chapter 24 : Ghost Finale Previous chapter

- - Song introduction - -

Ghost Finale is based on MusicBox lullaby melody 21. After we got it ready, thought it would be good closing song for native Ghosted songs. Tried to get some joy to the end. Arranged and played the melody to popular - classic music.

Good thing about the web is that if there is something wrong in the song, you can fix it, and replace the old file with fixed file. In Ghost Finale there was compilation error. Part of the drum track was misaligned. Noticed and fixed it after we continued to work with the remaining songs. Replaced the whole file, with fixed recording day after the release.
